Everything in this Academy is built on years of free content I've put out for contractors — job costing, banking relationships, estimating, the financial side most contractors are never taught.

If you want to see how I think before you go any further, here's where to start.

Take your time. I'm not going anywhere. Or if you'd rather see exactly what's inside the Academy first, keep scrolling.

Contractor Business Academy is not built for every contractor, and it is not meant to be. It is built for owners who have already proven they can run jobs and now want to know if they can run a business — one disciplined enough to be bankable, bondable, and eventually capable of funding investments beyond the company itself.

Before you enroll, ask yourself one question we will return to throughout the program: is your contracting business your destination, or your vehicle?

  • Destination: you want to build an excellent, well-run contracting business and the freedom that comes with it. CBA is built to get you there.

  • Vehicle: contracting is how you fund something larger — investments, real estate, a next chapter. CBA builds the vehicle first, because nothing beyond it is possible without a business that produces reliable income.

You should be doing at least $1 million in annual revenue to apply. That number is a starting filter, not a guarantee of acceptance. Every applicant completes a personal conversation with Ray before enrollment is offered — we are looking for teachability and a genuine commitment to the work, not just a revenue figure.

THE FRAMEWORK

Seven Principles.

For Success in the Contracting Business.

Every module in this academy is built on the same seven principles that govern any worthwhile endeavor: Knowledge, Wisdom, Plan, and Diligence — the four that produce above-average income — and Manpower, Capital, and Technology, the three that turn that income into lasting wealth.

Knowledge

Understanding and mastering every number, system, and discipline that actually drives a contracting business — not just the craft, the business itself.

Wisdom

Accumulating the details, like knowing which numbers to watch, which relationships to build, and which decisions move the business forward to monetize that knowledge effectively.

Plan

Turning that knowledge and wisdom into a documented operating system — job costing, scheduling, sales, marketing — instead of running on instinct.

Diligence

Running that system consistently, job after job, to create an above-average income.

Manpower

Building a team that can run your system, not just swing a hammer.

Capital

Deploying retained earnings deliberately instead of letting them disappear into the next job.

Technology

Using tools that scale what your team and systems can't do alone.

Most contractors are already practicing some of these. Few practice them all in conjunction. CBA installs all seven — together, function by function — inside your business.

Working together, these Seven Principles can

produce wealth that becomes a legacy.

The Curriculum

Module 1 — Strategy

Where is your business actually going? Identity, vision, and the destination-or-vehicle question that shapes every module that follows.

Module 2 — Operations & Production

The seven-component system that runs every job from contract to close-out and protects the net profit built into every bid.

Module 3 — Finance & Accounting

The reporting, job costing, and cash flow disciplines that make your business bankable, bondable, and investable.

Module 4 — Human Resources & Workforce

Recruiting, role assignment, and incentive structures that align your team with the outcomes you are building toward.

Module 5 — Customer Service

The systems that turn finished jobs into referrals — the final phase of production and the first phase of the next sale.

Module 6 — Marketing

A systematic, technology-supported lead generation engine that ends the feast-and-famine cycle for good.

Module 7 — Sales

A documented client acquisition process — from lead follow-up through estimating to closed contract, back to the next customer.

Module 8 — Research & Development

The discipline for deliberate growth — new service lines, new markets, evaluated and planned rather than chased.

Module 1 can be completed any time, but is designed to be done first and revisited at the end of the program. Modules 2 through 6 build on one another and must be completed in order. Module 7 is a prerequisite for Module 8. When you implement this operating system, your business builds real retained earnings — capital, not just income. With that capital in place, your natural next step is to grow your wealth using the tax code as your playbook. That's what the CRE Investor Academy is about.

How Enrollment Works

Contractor Business Academy is cohort-based and led personally by Ray. There is no self-paced track for any of the modules. The completion and transformation rates of a guided cohort are not close to what a self-paced course produces, and this program is built for transformation, not just information.

  • Step 1 — Module 1 ($3,000): Entry begins with a 1-on-1 booking with Ray. If you and Ray agree that this step is the best, you will be enrolled in Module 1. Module 1 generally starts at the beginning of the month.

  • Step 2 — A Personal Conversation: After completing Module 1, you and Ray have a direct conversation before Modules 2 through 8 are offered. Not every Module 1 graduate advances — that selectivity is intentional.

  • Step 3 — Modules 2–8 ($33,000): The complete operating system, sold as a single upfront commitment with a payment plan available. Cohorts are kept small — six members or less — so the work stays personal.

If you are ready to find out whether your contracting business can become the vehicle for something larger, the first step is a conversation.
